VISIT TO RIVERSIDE

We went to Riverside in LaBelle to visit NOMADS and to meet Dave Weber the director of the camp. We went down Friday afternoon and left on Sunday.
Lots of  RV hook ups, for NOMADS and other volunteers.
Larry had a little bit of a challenge with our rig getting the city water to work. With lots of NOMADS ideas and help we learned to shut off the pump and then it we had water..
We enjoyed our weekend camping in our new B class RV.  It was a nice relaxing weekend.
Friday night when we arrived the NOMADS working this period  had  us join them for pizza and games in this building.
That building had this plaque on the wall from NOMADS who had built it in 1998.There is a lot of NOMADS history at this campground.
The team working there now are working in this building.
They took down the ceiling tiles and installed this wooden ceiling and painted the ceilings in all of the other rooms.
This is the cafeteria building that needs to be  updated with air conditioning, not sure NOMADS can do that project.
It is a beautiful campus and glad to see the excitement the director has for this camp.

NOMADS LOVE

February 14,2020 was the date of the Florida NOMADS Gathering at the Life Enrichment Center in Fruitland  Park. We took our new RV  and stayed on Thursday night, the first time camping in awhile.
Sue and Becky helped with registration. The cost of the meal was $11.
Kathy had the promotion table. She sold quite a lot.
86 NOMADS attended. Two were guest and about 10 were alumni.
Lots of catching up with one another.
I had a NOMADS not-so newly wed game to play, to celebrate Valentine's Day. Kathy Phelps and Carolyn Freeman, both board members, gave updates on NOMADS. I was glad we had a microphone but still it was hard for many to hear because there was another group eating lunch in the other half of the room. We will be over at Warren Willis next year in a room just for us.
The Freemans had leader training after the luncheon. About 10 people attended. We thank them for taking time out of their busy schedule to do this. The more leaders that are trained the more projects can be filled.
