OUR FIRST WEEK AT EPWORTH UMC

We arrived in Phoenix at the Epwoth UMC on Thursday, January23, 2014.
We were greeted right away and they had all the hook ups ready for our group to come in.

All six rigs were here by Saturday afternoon and we had the wagons circled.
We always started our days here in the lounge with devotions.

One big project was to clear this room , remove the paneling from one of the  walls and turn this room into a place for some children to go when needed during church.

After Jack removed the paneling. Tom hung the drywall and mudded it.

The Boy Scout shed on the church property had been broken into and doors needed replaced.
Bob and Marvin took off the old doors.
Jack and Bob built new doors and got them hung with some help from Larry.
After the doors were on, we fixed up the rest of the building. Larry repaired some of the wood and Paige and Janice scraped off the peeling paint.
Barb pinting on the kilz.
On the roof the conduit needed repaired and the lights on this cross fixed.
Larry,Bob and Jack completed the roof work.
The gutters were cleaned by Ogie, Paige and me.
After they were cleaned Melvin and Barb got the places where the gutters were leaking repaired.
The last group of NOMADS build these cabinets in the fellowship hall. Mervin finished putting locks on all of them.
Janice and Barb organized this closet in  the church.
they got some help to build a table,
and put in some hooks.
One job finished.

The organ was needed to be moved out of the way and into a corner on the alter. It took all the guys to move it.
Bill and Ogie replaced three post on this pavilion. Bill had just returned from a trip he had to  make this week to Hawaii, so we were glad to have him back with us.

Paige fixing the caulk in the boy's restroom.
Ogie sanding the boy's bathroom door and then it was painted.
The church provided us with delicious snacks each morning and afternoon.
We ended our week with Mexican dinner at Popo's. A lot of work was accomplished and we are excited to see each project completed next week or two.
